Managing a large workload is always a challenge. This year, I have more work to do than ever, and less time to do it. A couple months ago, I started working at the Vons grocery store in Grover Beach. This has drastically cut down on my free time, as at times I’m working upwards of 30 hours a week. On top of this, I also have many school and non school projects I’m working on. Managing this workload has been very difficult for me, and I’ve started to fall behind.
The main project I’m working on is the DireLights website redesign, which I hope to have finished by the end of the school year. I am also working on a new website for a preschool in Pismo Beach, which will get me my community service hours. As well as these two website projects, I am also getting ready for Senior Defense, which is a graduation requirement. There is also class projects/homework which I have to do, namely the Book to Movie project in ERWC, in which the final product is a 10-page essay. So, as you can see, I have a lot of work to do.
So, how can I go about managing all this work? Well, I just need to take things one step at a time. I need to find days in which I have a lot of time, and I need to sit down and focus on one project. I also need to make sure I’m going to sleep at a reasonable time, or else I’ll be tired throughout the day, which is very bad for productivity. I also need to work on making a task list for everything I need to get done, and things I’ve already done. This will help in keeping track of my progress on all my different projects, as well as seeing what I need to do next. Hopefully I’ll be able to get more of the DireLights website redesign done on the coming weeks, I’l make sure to include my progress in these blog posts.
